Where May The World Be Heading Financially?
Disclaimer: Although we are keen students of international finances, we are not qualified to advise anybody concerning their financial affairs. Nobody should take any action whatever on the basis of any of our comments on this web site.
We believe that the world may be heading for a financial downturn, but we could very well be wrong.
Everyone should make up their own minds how to proceed financially, and seek professional advice wherever possible. We are Christian missionaries, not financial advisers, and the analysis below of world events should be taken as intended - a summary of the world scene as seen by many independent observers, both Christian and secular.
We believe we are all now living, in 2009, in the time known in the Bible as the End Times, as discussed in The Rapture in Our Generation on this web site.
According to many observers, both Christian and secular:
1. The Western world has accumulated unprecedented debt, and governments of most Western economies simply cannot balance their financial books, giving rise to ever increasing Government Debt.
2. Many Western Governments are increasingly in trouble attempting to fund their pension liabilities, their health and social security budgets, their public services, and the cost of fighting war, crime and terrorism.
3. Many Western businesses are struggling with the current rising costs of raw materials, rising oil prices, rising interest rates, and trying to sell their products to customers who increasingly cannot afford their products.
4. Many Western businesses are also fighting a losing battle trying to compete with Asian economies, where wages are only a fraction of Western wages.
5. Many individuals in the Western world are increasingly assuming huge and unprecedented levels of debt to finance their homes, cars, holidays, plasma TV's, and everything else.
6. Many observers believe that no individual, business or government can continue to live on borrowed money indefinitely.
7. Many observers believe that a world wide financial crash of unprecedented proportions may be just around the corner.
Books we recommend
1. Many Christians believe that a world wide crash of stock markets and many other financial assets in inevitable, exactly as foreseen by David Wilkerson of Times Square, New York, in his book, The Vision, published in 1973. Listen to David Wilkerson speaking of this here.
2. A detailed financial analysis of the current world scene is beyond the scope of this web site, but we particularly recommend the secular book, Wake Up!: Survive and Prosper in the Coming Economic Turmoil: Books: Jim Mellon,Al Chalabil" published in 2005 by Jim Mellon and Al Chalabi.
